The hinge body is cast from A356 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy and paired with alloy steel joints,delivering superior strength and enhanced structural support. The system supports the installation of up to 40-inch tires (when used in conjunction with the Traveler Mammoth reinforced spare tire carrier). When oversized tires are fitted, the hinge transfers load from the tailgate to the hinge assembly itself, effectively reducing tailgate sag and minimizing the risk of deformation to door components. The tailgate can be opened and closed easily with one hand.
